Ghost of South Philly

This Blog is the product of bygone days and haunted memories. It is about myself and my family. While most of this is about the past- as I am still alive the ghost will at times be confronted by real living sprits.

I was born and raised in South Philly but left my heimat 25 years ago and now travel the world with my memories in tow. Yet South Philly haunts me like a siren’s call and I am lashed to the mast ….…. Don’t know about my future but oh what a past….So come and share my memories and add some of yours..

Hey Frankie Braccia,
i don't know if you would remember me, i'm Dolores Pinto's grandaughter, Roberta. we were together a lot as little kids, considering i spent most of my time at that house on Dickinson Street. I loved it there and always miss it.I can picture your parents. I go by there often and am tempted to knock on the door and ask if i could go in to look around. They truly were the good old days. I enjoyed reading this so much! It brings back so many memories, all good. I have so many old pictures of Dickinson street, that were my grandmothers, pictures on the funeral parlor steps, for some reason, thats where they did family photos. You would love them. I often think about your family, when we get together we love to think back to those days. i recently took my own children on a walking tour of that neighborhood. Being from the suburbs, they have no concept of how it was to live there. Thanks for the memories!!!!!!

Hello Frank. I have always said that Philadelphians are two degrees of each other, especially South Philadelphians, and time after time my theory is proven.

I don't think that you would remember me, but I remember you and your parents. I am Joe Bartolomeo's little cousin who live next door to him on Gerritt Street back in the '70s. Your blog was forwarded to me by a co-worker this morning. I must tell you how much I've enjoyed reading it; it's so darn familiar in every way -- I knew even the nameless characters in your stories. I am going to forward the link to my Aunt Nina and Uncle Joe, as well as to Joseph and Cindy. I'm sure they will enjoy reading it as well.

Curiously, I wonder what brought you to the island of Bornei?

Thanks again for the memories.
